Nicole holds a Master of Education degree from Simon Fraser University, successfully completed her BC Provincial Instructors Diploma as well BC Adult Education Diploma, is a Certified Travel Counsellor, plus holds credentials in Hospitality from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Lodging Association. She has also contributed back to the tourism industry by leading workshops and seminars across Canada in both English and French.

Nazmi KamalEducation Coordinator
Being constantly on the move, Nazmi has finally found his new home after being in Vancouver for the past five years. Born in Dubai and educated in Switzerland, he worked in Amman, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Zurich, Bern, and now in Vancouver. He specializes in convention sales and tourism management. Armed with an MBA in Hospitality Marketing and a Master of Science in Travel and Tourism Management, alongside other professional certifications, he is convinced he has plenty to share.
Nazmi launched his career as a service trainee in Zurich’s very own Baur Au Lac Hotel in 1999 before venturing into several world-class establishments in the following years including Abu Dhabi’s iconic Emirates Palace and Jordan’s Royal Convention Center just to name a few. As a dedicated hotel and tourism enthusiast and a well-established conference planner, his past projects exposed him to destination marketing, event planning, and restaurant management. He chose a life-long journey of learning and eventually decided to enter the field of teaching.
Along with his formal education, Nazmi constantly seeks new professional training and development projects, such as food and travel writing and writing industry research papers. He enjoys cooking and traveling.
Anna-Marie has over 20 years of international experience in the Education and Hospitality Industries.
She holds a MBA (Hospitality Management) degree as well as a CHE (Certified Hospitality Educator) designation. She specialized in Food & Nutrition, Consumer Guidance, Post School Education, Culinary Skills, Food & Beverage Management, Hospitality Services and General Management/soft skills
Anna-Marie started her education career at Tshwane University of Technology (South Africa) and later joined Walter Sisulu University of Technology and Science (South Africa) and was subsequently promoted to Head of the Department of Food and Consumer Sciences.
Her first international opportunity was as Private Chef to the South African Consul General in New York City (NY, USA) and later returned to South Africa as Catering Manager at a Boutique Hotel in the Western Cape Province.
Anna-Marie relocated to Dubai, UAE and joined Raffles Campus as the Academic Manager in with the primary responsibility to establish and oversee the Hospitality programme launch and operations including International Academic and Quality accreditation.
After becoming a permanent resident in Canada, Anna-Marie continued her career in education as an instructor for Hospitality Management courses as well as AHLEI faculty and an instructor.
Luis is a former member of Costa Rica’s national fencing team, where he is a proud recipient of the national championship and gold medal for Carleton fencing varsity team for intra-universities competition.
Since 1993, aviation professional, Wendy Evens, has been traveling the globe as seasoned in-flight crew. Offering passengers her passion and dedication to safety and upscale service with a friendly smile working aboard a top, national commercial airline in the early '90s led her to working aboard corporate/private jets in 1998. Her in-flight career took her to 12 countries and thousands of cities including New York City, London, Sydney, Paris, and São Paulo. Past aviation clients include Fortune 500 executives, celebrities, professional sports teams, royalty, high profile families and music concert road shows.
Her distinguished career also included working front and back of house at four and five-diamond hotels including the Four Seasons (Washington, D.C.), The Breakers Hotel and Resort (Palm Beach, Florida), and The Royal Palms Resort & Spa (Phoenix, Arizona). She is a current member of Women in Aviation International (WIA) and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). She holds current in-flight certifications with Flight Safety International (FSI) and the American Red Cross. Wendy also served as the Safety Editor for the Canadian Airlines' regional flight attendant union membership in Vancouver providing monthly newsletter articles.
Born and raised in Vancouver, she holds dual Canadian and American citizenship and has resided at various times in the USA. She currently resides in Vancouver and is happy to be teaching and mentoring future flight attendants to be the very best in their chosen, rewarding field at Eton College.

Paolo is an accomplished tourism expert with a wealth of experience in the tourism industry in Canada, Australia, Thailand, and in the Philippines. Armed with over 15 years of experience in the realms of tourism planning, destination and policy development, and community-based strategizing among others, Paolo brings together his experience and expertise into the classroom environment.
Being a licensed urban planner, Paolo has successfully fused the disciplines of tourism and urban planning to create a progressive and innovative approach in developing sustainable communities that thrive through tourism. His latest achievement was the tourism planning of a 4,000-acre mixed use, integrated tourism and heritage destination in the Philippines. Such a project is expected to generate CAD$200 million worth of investments and provide over 800 jobs for just the first two phases in its 10-year development.
Paolo is a graduate of Capilano University’s Tourism Management Degree Program and also holds a Master’s Degree (with honours) in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of the Philippines. He was recently accepted into the Doctor of Social Sciences at Royal Roads University, in which his study focuses on disaster risk management in tourism using indigenous systems and practices. As a think-outside-the-box advocate, Paolo is passionate about building future leaders of the tourism industry starting from the classroom.
