Admissions Policy:

Eton College admits qualified students without discrimination with regard to race, colour, creed, national or ethnic origin, marital status, sexual preference, age, religion or physical disability.

Applicants must meet all minimum requirements to be considered for admission to Eton College and have sufficient financial support for his/her study.

Eton College Placement Assessment will be required if candidate does not meet minimum English Proficiency requirements as per admissions requirements.

Please Note – The minimum admission requirements cannot be waived by either Eton College or the applicant under any circumstance.


Admission Requirements for all programs except CO-OP, BEC, and Introduction to Tourism and Hospitality programs:

Admission Requirements for Career and Academic Programs at Eton College:

  • Completed BC High School (or equivalent in another school system), OR
  • Meets Grade 10 Literacy and Numeracy requirements of the BC Secondary School system, OR
  • Completed Grade 10 with a Recommendation Letter from the High School Principal or School District, OR
  • Meet one of the English Proficiency requirements below (please see below) AND
  • Medical insurance coverage AND
  • Flight Attendant Preparation Entrance Agreement, when applicable.

 

English Proficiency Requirements – applicant must provide evidence of one of the following:

  • BC High School English 12 – minimum C (60-66%), (or equivalent in another school system), OR
  • BC High School Communications 12 – minimum C+ (67-72%), (or equivalent in another school system), OR
  • TOEFL PBT score 500, or CBT 173, or iBT 61, OR
  • IELTS – minimum overall band test score 6, OR
  • CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) 7, OR
  • Successfully complete the Eton College Placement Assessment OR
  • Successfully complete the Eton College Business Environment Communications program

 

Procedure Note: Eton College Placement Assessment will be required if the applicant does not meet minimum English Proficiency requirements as above. In the event that the applicant does not meet the necessary English requirements, the applicant will be placed into the Business Environment Communications Program. Once the applicant achieves the required level of proficiency in English, the applicant will then enter his/her original choice of program.


Admission Requirements for Tourism and Hospitality Canadian Experience CO-OP Program:

  1. General Admission Requirements:
  • Minimum: Completed secondary school graduation (or equivalent in another school system)
    OR 19 years of age or older
  • Medical insurance coverage

 

  1. Demonstrate English Proficiency by successfully completing the Eton College Placement Assessment.

 

Note: Minimum IELTS Score of 4.5 across all bands will indicate likelihood of successfully completing Eton College English Placement Test.


Admission Requirements for Business Environment Communication (BEC) Program:

  1. General Admission Requirements:
  • Minimum: Completed secondary school graduation (or equivalent in another school system)
    OR 19 years of age or older
  • Medical insurance coverage

 

  1. Demonstrate English Proficiency level by completing the Eton College Placement Assessment for BEC applicants. Results of the Placement Assessment indicate the number of months in BEC to attain the English Proficiency requirements of career and academic programs at Eton College Canada.

Admission Requirements for Introduction to Tourism and Hospitality Program:

  1. General Admission Requirements:
  • 16 years of age or older
  • Medical insurance coverage

 

  1. Demonstrate English Proficiency level by completing the Eton College Placement Assessment for Introduction to Tourism and Hospitality Program applicants.
