Admissions Policy:

Eton College admits qualified students regardless of race, colour, creed, national or ethnic origin, marital status, sexual preference, age, religion, or physical disability.

Applicants must meet all the minimum requirements to be considered for admission and have sufficient financial support for his/her study.

Eton College Placement Assessment will be required if the candidate does not meet minimum English Proficiency requirements.

NOTE: The minimum admission requirements cannot be waived by either Eton College or the applicant under any circumstances.

Admission Requirements for All Programs Except CO-OP, BEC, and Introduction to Tourism and Hospitality programs

Admission Requirements for Career and Academic Programs at Eton College:

  • Applicant must satisfy any of the conditions below:
    • Completed BC High School (or equivalent in other school system)
    • Meets Grade 10 Literacy and Numeracy requirements of the BC Secondary School system
    • Completed Grade 10 with a Recommendation Letter from the High School Principal or School District
    • Meet one of the English Proficiency requirements (please see below)
  • Medical insurance coverage
  • Flight Attendant Preparation Entrance Agreement, when applicable.

 

English Proficiency Requirements

Applicant must present evidence of at least one of the following:

  • BC High School English 12 – minimum C (60-66%), (or equivalent in other school system)
  • BC High School Communications 12 – minimum C+ (67-72%), (or equivalent in other school system)
  • TOEFL PBT score of 500, or CBT 173, or iBT 61
  • IELTS – minimum overall band test score 6
  • CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) 7
  • Successfully complete the Eton College Placement Assessment
  • Successfully complete the Eton College Business Environment Communications program

 

Procedure Note: Eton College Placement Assessment will be required if the applicant does not meet minimum English Proficiency requirements shown above. In the event that the applicant does not meet the necessary English requirements, the applicant will be placed into the Business Environment Communications Program. Once the applicant achieves the required level of English proficiency, only then can applicant enter their original choice of program.

 

Admission Requirements for Tourism and Hospitality Canadian Experience CO-OP Program:

  1. General Admission Requirements:
  • Minimum: Completed secondary school graduation (or equivalent in another school system)
    OR 19 years of age or older
  • Medical insurance coverage

 

  1. Demonstrate English Proficiency by successfully completing the Eton College Placement Assessment.

 

Note: Minimum IELTS Score of 4.5 across all bands will indicates a high chance of success in the Eton College English Placement Test.

 

Admission Requirements for Business Environment Communication (BEC) Program:

  1. General Admission Requirements:
  • Minimum: Completed secondary school graduation (or equivalent in another school system)
    OR 19 years of age or older
  • Medical insurance coverage

 

  1. Demonstrate English Proficiency level by completing the Eton College Placement Assessment for BEC applicants. Results of the Placement Assessment indicate the number of months needed to attend the BEC in order to qualify for the English Proficiency requirements of other career and academic programs at Eton College Canada.

 

Admission Requirements for Introduction to Tourism and Hospitality Program:

  1. General Admission Requirements:
  • 16 years of age or older
  • Medical insurance coverage

 

  1. Demonstrate English Proficiency level by completing the Eton College Placement Assessment for Introduction to Tourism and Hospitality Program applicants.
